Distributed Bragg Reflector Fiber Lasers for Acoustic Sensing

Abstract

Distributed Bragg reflector fiber laser-based sensors require careful design of both the laser and sensing transducer. Through simulations and experimentation, acoustic sensors employing extended cavity lasers were fabricated and characterized for their acceleration and acoustic responses.
