Ultrasensitive Phase Sensing Inside a Mode-Locked Fiber Laser

Abstract

A bidirectional ring laser generates two frequency combs producing a beat frequency proportional to the relative phase shift between the intracavity pulses. Methods of optical comb stabilization and multiplexing with intracavity resonators are presented.
