Resonant Metamaterial Detectors Utilizing THz Quantum-Cascade Lasers

Abstract

We present the design, fabrication and characterization of a resonant metamaterial detector based on a THz quantum-cascade laser. The same active region can be used to generate and detect the light leading to miniaturized and integrated optical systems in the THz spectral range.
