Blind Real-Time Multi-Format Carrier Recovery for Flexible Optical Networks

Abstract

A low-complexity, multi-format, and real-time capable carrier recovery is demonstrated for QPSK, 8QAM and 16QAM. The algorithm performs a joint frequency and phase compensation, allowing for switching of modulation formats during operation.
