Assessment of MPI Compensation Effectiveness as Functions of MPI Level and Number of Crosstalk Terms for a 256 Gb/s PM-16QAM Signal

Abstract

We investigate the effectiveness of digital MPI compensation against number of crosstalk terms and total MPI level. We find similar behavior for 1-8 terms, and Q penalty <1 dB up to -12 dB MPI.
