Mitigation of Linear and Nonlinear Impairments in Spectrally Efficient Superchannels

Abstract

We assess numerically the performance of single-carrier digital backpropa-gation and maximum-likelihood sequence detection (MLSD) for DP-QPSK superchannel transmission. It is shown that MLSD is advantageous only against inter-carrier linear crosstalk.
