Abstract

We present a practical receiver-side chromatic dispersion (CD) compensation scheme for higher-order multilevel signaling using optical delay-detection, and up to 40-Gbit/s 16QAM signaling experiments have been demonstrated with large tolerance to CD (±40-km SSMF) and laser phase noise (1-MHz linewidth).
