Abstract

We discuss the digital signal-processing techniques for phase-adjustment-free operation of a non-coherent receiver with the enhanced receiver sensitivity. The detection of multi-level DPSK and 16ADPSK signals is demonstrated with near quantum-limited sensitivity.
