Abstract

We review the design, fabrication, operation and performance of micro-pixel AlInGaN light-emitting diode arrays and illustrate their applications in areas including visible light communications, hybrid inorganic/organic optoelectronics, ultraviolet direct writing and bioinstrumentation.
