Abstract

We demonstrate a 1.9-μm band Tm-doped fiber ring laser by using bi-directional pumping with 1.6 μm laser diodes. The lasing wavelength is controlled by shifting the inter-resonance-mode passband due to a microbend-induced long-period fiber grating.
