Using nonuniform fiber to generate slow light via SBS

Abstract

The pulse delay based on stimulated Brillouin scattering in a nonuniform dispersion decreasing fiber (DDF) is demonstrated. The pulse delay of more than one bit with small distortion is observed for 2ns pulse using DDF.
