Single-sideband modulation and variable delay of GHz-wide analog signals generated via stimulated Brillouin scattering

Abstract

Single-sideband and variable delay of GHz-wide, linear frequency modulated signals are demonstrated, using stimulated Brillouin scattering in fiber. Distortion is minimized using precise chirp control of the broadened pump. Results are attractive for optical beam-forming.
