Increase of Fractional Advance in THz-Bandwidth Fast Light by Pulse Chirping in an SOA

Abstract

We propose a novel technique to improve fast light in semiconductor optical amplifiers. By chirping input pulses, experimentally measured advance increases 1.5 ps. The fractional advance can be increased twofold by recompressing the output pulses.
