Slow light in semiconductor waveguides

Abstract

We describe recent experiments demonstrating slow-down of light in a semiconductor waveguide at gigahertz frequencies and for femtosecond pulses. The results are explained by a simple model, which can be used to analyze the potential and limitations of the technique.
