Abstract
The distortion of the impurity optical-absorption coefficient of a direct gap-semiconductor is investigated here when the semiconductor is subjected to an additional infrared laser field. It is shown that, when the ir laser intensity increases, the laser-dressed absorption coefficient decreases as compared with its free-field value.
