Abstract

We present efficient and low-noise polarization-preserving quantum frequency conversion devices connecting trapped Ca+-ions (854nm) and Rb-atoms (780nm) to the telecom bands for long-distance entanglement distribution in quantum networks. With Ca+-ions, entanglement-preserving conversion is realized.
