High-resolution spectroscopy of deterministically generated single photons from a single atom

Abstract

Using a high-finesse optical Fabry-Perot cavity, we measure the spectrum of single 854-nm photons generated from a trapped single 40Ca+ -ion by controlled Raman scattering on the D5/2 - P3/2 - S1/2 transition.
