A laser diode for integrated photon pair generation at telecom wavelength

Abstract

We report on an electrically pumped laser diode emitting photon pairs around 1,56 µm by internal parametric down-conversion. The device is an AlGaAs heterostructure working at room temperature and is based on type-II modal phase-matching.
