Limitations on High-Energy Photon Generation by Near- and Mid-IR Laser Sources in Atomic Gases

Abstract

Based on quantum-mechanical numerical and analytical calculations, the atomic ground state depletion and magnetic field of laser pulse are considered as the limiting factors for high-energy photon generation through the high-harmonic generation process in gases.
