First Observation of Raman Scattering Emission from Silicon High-Q Photonic Crystal Nanocavities

Abstract

We report the first observation of spontaneous Raman scattering in silicon nanocavities with high quality factors. Stokes Raman scattering enhanced by the Q factor was spectrally measured under µW pumping.
