Microscopic Study of Carrier Multiplication in Graphene

Abstract

Microscopic calculations allow to track the ultrafast relaxation of optically excited charge carriers in graphene. Its unique band structure accounts for efficient Auger-type scattering channels resulting in a significant carrier multiplication.
