Abstract

A proposed design approach for SOI-based Mach-Zehnder delay interferometers enables efficient passive temperature compensation through waveguide engineering. Using the methodology, a 50-Gb/s DPSK demodulator exhibits very low spectral shift (1 pm/°C).
