Plasmon resonance induced enhancement of reflection band in a one-dimensional metal nanocomposite photonic crystal

Abstract

A one-dimensional metal nanocomposite-dielectric photonic crystal that shows 200% enhancement of the reflection band due to the interplay between the plasmon resonance of the silver nanoparticles and Bloch modes of the photonic crystal is demonstrated.
