Abstract

A DWDM tunable electro-optic filter using photonic bandgaps was designed. Tuning range and minimum channel-spacing was controlled by an electro-optic defect, Pb (Mg<sup>1/3</sup>Nb<sup>1/3</sup>)O<sup>3</sup>-PbTiO<sup>3</sup>, or by including the EO material within the reflecting stacks.
