Fluorescence Enhancement by Surface Gratings

Abstract

Enhancement of fluorescence from Rhodamine6G molecules near a dielectric grating deposited onto a gold film is observed. The enhancement mechanism is consistent with excitation of surface plasmon polaritons on the film surface.
