Nanophotonic devices based on two-dimensional negative refractive index materials

Abstract

Fabrication of 3D negative refractive index materials in the visible range faces numerous technological challenges. We demonstrate that negative refractive index metamaterial devices may be realized much easier in two spatial dimensions using surface plasmons.
