Two-photon based semiconductor entanglement-source for quantum communications

Abstract

We propose a compact efficient room-temperature polarization-entangled photons source based on two-photon spontaneous emission from semiconductor quantum wells in a microcavity. Pair generation rate in GaInP/AlGalnP is O(103) higher than for PDC sources.
