Abstract

We report on an ytterbium-doped rod-type 0.5-m long photonic crystal fiber (PCF) laser emitting 320-W in a fundamental mode from a 60-µm core. Furthermore, single-transverse-mode propagation in a passive photonic crystal 100-µm-core fiber is investigated.
