Nonlinear Phase Noise in Polarization-Division-Multiplexed DPSK Systems

Abstract

Nonlinear phase noise (NPN) in polarization-division-multiplexed DPSK systems is analyzed. It is found that the absolute NPN is inversely proportional to the square-root of channel spacing, while the differential NPN depends on the launch condition.
