Superfocusing of Light Beams below the Diffraction Limit by Photonic Crystals with Negative Refraction

Abstract

We show that photonic crystal with negative refraction amplifying the evanescent waves, combined with an aperture creating seed evanescent components, can focus light beams below the diffraction limit of half of the wavelength.
