Determining the carrier-envelope frequency and phase by few-cycle nonlinear optics in semiconductors

Abstract

We discuss semiconductor nonlinear optics in the nonperturbative few-cycle regime. In particular, we introduce “camouflage third-harmonic generation” and speculate about the possibility to determine the CEO phase itself.
