Abstract

Left-handed materials with negative refraction in the optical range are proposed based on metal nanowire structures (see the figure below) [1]. Such materials can have the dielectric permittivity and magnetic permeability both negative in the optical range, including the telecommunication wavelength. The optical properties of such nanocomposites and their novel applications are discussed in this presentation.
