Abstract

We demonstrate that the scattering effect of the surface roughness in semiconductor microdisk lasers is strongly suppressed by dynamical Anderson localization. This phenomenon allows for lasing action on quasi-regular modes in samples with surface defects, in agreement with experimental observations.
