Abstract
Weak values, as introduced by Aharonov, Albert and Vaidman (AAV),1 are ensemble-averaged values for the results of weak measurements. A weak measurement of a variable X̂ is one that yields an unbiased estimate for X̂ but which disturbs the system only infinitesimally.
