Abstract

Nonlinear dynamics in optical waveguide arrays (OWAs)1 has attracted considerable attention over the last years.2,3 Various interesting nonlinear properties identified originate basically from peculiarities (or anomalies) of light propagation in linear discrete systems. Because diffraction is the primary linear process that e.g. controls the propagation of a finite beam we will focus on the study of diffraction peculiarities in OWAs.
