Electromagnetically induced transparency in atoms and molecules

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Electromagnetically induced transparency is a technique for allowing optical beams to propagate in otherwise opaque optical media, often with most of the atoms remaining in the ground state. Based on optical dark states, it is a striking manifestation of quantum interference.
