Abstract

The generation and detection of coherent vibronic excitations in semiconductors1-2 and semiconductor heterostructures3-4 has attracted great interest throughout the last years. The detailed study of excitation and dephasing dynamics reveals details of carrier-phonon interaction on a subpicosecond time-scale, which is not accessible by other techniques. Here we report on the first observation of coherent acoustic phonons in Fibonacci superlattices.5
