Optical vortex beams In a photorefractive Bi12TiO20 crystal

Abstract

Stable propagation of two-dimensional bright intensity distributions cannot be obtained in a Kerr medium. However, a 2D dark hole with a phase varying bright background (vortex) exhibits a stable propagation in this media.
