Abstract
We report on the study of the dynamics and correlation properties of hydrogen bonds in zeolites. Zeolites are porous networks widely used in catalysis with tire active site formed by the O-H group that can form hydrogen bonds with other oxygen atoms of the zeolite structure or with adsorbates. The dynamics of the hydrogen bond can be investigated by studying the dephasing of the O-H stretch vibrations. For zeolites the linear absorption spectrum is dominated by other broadening effects but the hydrogen-bond induced dephasing of zeolite hydroxyls can still be determined using infrared picosecond spectral-hole burning spectroscopy.
