Scalar Wave Interference of Biexcitons in CuCl

Abstract

We observed the interference of coherently excited biexcitons in a CuCl crystal by double pulse four-wave mixing. Interference is observed even when the two excitation pulses are orthogonally polarized clearly demonstrating the scalar-wave nature of biexcitons.
