Rotating Solitons in an Isotropic Optical Fiber

Abstract

The evolution of ultrashort optical solitons along an isotropic homogeneous fiber is investigated experimentally. It is shown that while linear and circularly polarized soliton maintain their state of polarization, elliptically polarized solitons rotate as a unit as they propagate.
