Abstract

The self-focusing of ultrashort light pulses in nonlinear media is of particular interest as a part of the general problem of high power radiation transport. The breakthrough up to the terawatt power level makes this problem to be actual for laser pulses of femtosecond domain: the self-focusing of 200-fs light pulses was recently observed in the laboratory air.1
