Terahertz emission from coherent phonons in tellurium

Abstract

Coherent optical phonons have been observed in several semiconductor materials in femtosecond time-resolved reflectivity experiments.1,2 Here, we report on the observation of terahertz radiation emitted from coherently exited infrared-active phonons in single-crystal tellurium.3
