Abstract
Laser spectroscopy has been used to study atomic and nuclear properties. However, such studies are rarely made for the refractory elements because it is very difficult to obtain their atomic beams. We report isotope shift and hyperfine structure measurements of refractory elements Lu, Hf, Ta, and W by means of laser spectroscopy with a unique ion-sputtering atomic-beam source.
