Abstract
The interaction of short pulses in nonlinear dispersive media is at the forefront of quantum optics. Progress has been made in understanding the quantum dynamics of solitons propagating along silica optical fibers. Squeezing was predicted1 and subsequently verified at IBM research laboratories. This work was built on the foundations set by the inverse-scattering theory for the nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLS).2
