Abstract

Kerr lens self mode-locking technique has become a standard method in generation of femtosecond pulses from tunable solid state lasers. Chromium doped forsterite was shown to generate transform limited sub- 100-fs pulses1 using active mode-locking and second order chirp compensation. In this presentation, we report on the generation of stable 50-fs pulses from a self mode-locked forsterite laser.
