Abstract
Complicated spatio-temporal behaviors in lasers with several transverse modes are studied using a He-Xe laser at 3.51 μm with a Fabry-Pérot cavity. The laser supports one longitudinal mode and its higher-order transverse modes over a range of cavity length, gain, and Fresnel number of the cavity, adjusted by varying an intracavity aperture.
