Abstract

One of the simplest nontrivial systems in quantum optics is the Jaynes-Cummings model (JCM) for a two-level atom interacting with a single mode of quantized electromagnetic field. It demonstrates surprisingly rich dynamics, in particular, collapses and revivals of atomic inversion,1 which have been observed experimentally.2
