Abstract

The spectral broadening (up to 15 cm−1) of backward-stimulated scattering from a CS2 liquid cell was reported in the 1960s and interpreted as stimulated Rayleigh-wing scattering (SRWS).1 According to SRWS theories,1,2 there is attenuation on the anti-Stokes side of a given pump line, and gain On the Stokes side.
