Abstract
The nonlinear optical response of the C60 molecule has attracted much interest recently. The C60 or fullerene molecule has sixty carbon atoms connected by conjugated bonds. Based on the conjugate-electron delocalization, C60 is expected to be an efficient nonlinear optical material. In this paper we report the results of second-harmonic generation (SHG) experiments on C60 thin films and the modulation effect of an earlier-applied light pulse on the SHG response.
